Commercial Refurbishment Project

This project involved the complete revamp of an existing public library which remained closed for many years prior to works commencing. The scope of works involved the demolition of the existing rear single storey buildings to accommodate new car park and access. There was a substantial amount of enabling works including structural alterations to internal walls/openings, removal of asbestos and complete strip out. The brick facades and reconstituted stone features were completely restored, and existing dilapidated sash windows were repaired in place.

The existing mechanical and electrical equipment was removed with full fit out of services to form new office spaces, consultation rooms, toilets, kitchens for staff, meeting rooms and lifts. The lobby area required restoration of mezzanine terrazzo floors, walls and stairs and all joinery. There were many aspects of this building including the exterior brick, roof, stone, windows and internal finishes protected under planning regulation’s and of local historical interest.
